Wellness Hub

The Redwater School Wellness Hub is a dedicated initiative aimed at supporting the well-being of our students. The Wellness Hub is designed to help students build strong protective factors such as positive adult role models, strong social support systems, healthy self-esteem, and emotional regulation skills. The Wellness Hub promotes success at school, engagement in community and cultural activities, and access to vital resources that support overall health. Our focus is on promoting positive mental health by offering access to resources and opportunities for skill development, and by integrating social-emotional learning into everyday student experiences.

The key priorities of the Wellness Hub include:

  • Embedding mental health wellness in daily life: We aim to help students understand and apply mental health concepts in their day-to-day experiences.
  • Building strong adult-student connections: Both in and out of school, these healthy relationships can make a significant difference in a young person's life.
  • Increasing mental health awareness: Through evidence-based programs and activities, we strive to improve awareness, understanding, and recognition of mental health issues.
  • Providing access to mental health support: We want to ensure students and families know what supports are available and how to access services in a timely manner.
  • Supporting student success: We offer various opportunities for students to set and achieve personal goals, contributing to their sense of accomplishment and well-being.
  • Reducing barriers to learning: By meeting students' basic needs—such as providing nutrition, hygiene products, and a safe, supportive environment—we can ensure all students are ready to learn and thrive.
